ILUMINA MAGISTER SPEAKERS/JEAN NANTAIS/MIYAJIMA LABS/AQUA/ATELIER AUDIO /HEARKEN AUDIO

Well, the Atelier and Hearken Audio room represented, in a way, home. Or, at least, my home wherein the actual beauty of the system composed of the ILUMINA Magister speakers, the JEAN NANTAIS Reference turntable as allied to the MIYAJIMA LABS EC-5 preamp and the Model 2020 amplifier, and AQUA’s La Scala MKII Optologic DAC and its LinQ “Network Interface” rivaled it wonderfully engaging musicality. This was, in fact, art meeting music and beautifully so!

The ILUMINA Magister speakers in addition to being works of art, truly, took the music, along with the rather stellar system, to a level of resolution and engagement, beauty and naturalness, that I would previously have associated with the best of the best electrostatics.

ILUMINA’s Vision Statement proclaims what I heard very clearly and is a case-in-point of truth in marketing:

"To produce a loudspeaker with a real-life sound as if it was coming from a natural source. This means high resolution, free of artifacts and with a natural ease"

I would say to this ‘spot on!’ I could have sat in this room for hours listening to and enjoying the music like so few systems have been able to conjure. Without a doubt, one of the best sounds of the show. Congratulations to Atelier and Hearken Audio for this system that presented a superb home away from home sound. Lovely.
