ATMA-SPHERE CLASS D AMPLIFIERS - REVIEW
From old favourites Wolf Alice and Waxahatchee to new crushes Ludwig Göransson and Duo Deloro, the Atma–Sphere Class D is a class act. When I was away cooking in the kitchen, they would draw me in and invite me to sit a spell and listen.
PARASOUND HINT 6+ INTEGRATED - REVIEW
I really enjoyed the Parasound Halo Hint 6. I mean really enjoyed it. It exudes class, sounds wonderful, and is built to a high standard. I also really like the price. For $3200 you get an amp designed by John Curl that will drive any speaker, a DSD DAC, a phono preamp, and numerous other bells and whistles.
THE MOLA MOLA KALUGA MONO-BLOCK AMPLIFIERS - REVIEW
The Mola Mola Kaluga mono block amplifiers, at approximately 17 grand, deliver far more sonic goodness than their price indicates. Yes, 17 grand is a lot of money, but within the context of a market that gives us power amplifiers of all designs that are priced at many multiples of the Kalugas, these amps are to be reckoned with.
AUDIONET WATT INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER - REVIEW
Quite frankly, the Audionet WATT integrated amplifier is a stunning piece of audio engineering and industrial design. I tried to find flaws in it’s sonic performance, to no avail. I did not get a chance to evaluate the optional phono board, but if it is on par with the amplifier, it is worth the additional grand.
AUDIO HUNGARY QUALITON PHONO PREAMPLIFIER - PREVIEW
Audio Hungary made quite an impression on us with their X200 tubed integrated amplifier. We were eager to hear more of the company’s products. The Qualiton tubed phono stage arrived to satisfy that desire. Our review unit came smartly finished in polished stainless steel, and features an outboard power supply. The unit retails for $5000.
AUDIO HUNGARY QUALITON X200 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER - REVIEW
The Audio Hungary Qualition X200 is in our estimation a highly successful product, and even more so when taking into consideration it’s price point. You get a heck of a lot for $6500. Along with high grade workmanship, a slew of welcomed features like built in Phono, headphone amp, subwoofer outputs, remote control, and more…
HEED THESIS LAMBDA PREAMPLIFIER AND GAMMA AMPLIFIER - REVIEW
We are hard pressed to think of separates at this price point that perform as well as the Heed Thesis components. The Gamma has more than enough power to drive the Spendor A2 speakers we used, and we loved the volume range available on the preamp. For those upgrading from an integrated amplifier and looking to delve into the world of separates, the Heed gets our highest recommendation!
